Role-playing Games
War Dogs carries one of the largest selections of RPGs in the region, including the largest selection of used RPGs (at discount pricing) of any game store in Jacksonville. On any given week, War Dogs is host to half a dozen or more RPG game sessions; here are some of the RPGs we actively keep in stock.

GURPS (Steve Jackson Games) GURPS is the orginal "universal" system, designed to let you play in any setting, any genre, and time period. The GURPS line includes supplements covering virtually every possible kind of game style or theme, and is a great game for those looking to add variety to their games, without having to keep switching systems to do so. |

Star Wars (Wizards of the Coast) One of several games that use a variant of the d20 system found in Dungeons and Dragons, Star Wars gives you a chance to adventure in the same worlds and stories as Luke, Obi-Wan, and Han Solo. Warhammer Fantasy (Sabretooth Games) Based on the setting of the Warhammer Fantasy miniatures game from Games Workshop, WHF RPG is a gritty, hard nosed treatment of the traditional sword and spells genre. More dangerous than flamboyant, more determined than curious, the heroes of Warhammer are forged in battle and face the forces of Chaos with bravery more than magic. |

World of Darkness (Vampire, Werewolf, Mage; from White Wolf Publications) The newest versions of the World of Darkness games are more open to the casual gamer, and the new mechanics are more streamlined across the different settings, allowing more balanced play when characters from one setting encounter those from another. |

War Dogs plays host to several different CCGs, with both casual and sanctioned tournament play available throughout the week.

Magic: the Gathering (Wizards of the Coast) The longest running and most popular CCG on the market, Magic dominates the field. War Dogs hosts a DCI sanctioned tournament for Magic each Friday night at 7pm, and we carry the largest selection of single cards for sale in town, with over 25,000 individual cards from all the Magic sets. |

Legend of the Five Rings (AEG) The mythical Oriental land of Rokugan comes alive in this CCG, as players strive to defeat their opponents on the field of battle, win the favor of the Emperor by increasing their family's honor, or achieve spiritual Enlightenment by coming to understand the secrets of the universe. At least one, usually two sanctioned events are held for L5R each month at War Dogs. Sold in starter decks, booster packs, and single cards. |

Yu Gi Oh (Upper Deck) The hottest CCG on the market aimed at the younger players, this game is based off the smash cartoon hit (or maybe it's the other way around) and is sold in starter decks, booster packs, and single cards. |

It was bad, to be sure; the plot was thin, the acting was bad, and the special effects weren't all that special. But you watched anyway. Why? Because it's zombies chasing people all over town! And now in this game, you can live that movie again and again. Players alternate moving their humans to safety and chasing down their rivals with zombies. The game has 4 expansions that open up limitless opportunities for variety. |
